Family Restoration - Part 2

May 18, 2025    Taylor Justice, Brandon Blankenship

Raising a godly family in today’s world isn’t easy, but God’s Word provides wisdom, direction, and hope for restoration. In this second message of our Family Restoration series, we build on the foundation of Proverbs 22:6—“Train up a child in the way he should go…”—and explore how families can be healed, strengthened, and aligned with God’s purposes.

Joel 2 reminds us that God is a Restorer. No matter what damage has been done—through years of neglect, brokenness, or pain—God promises to restore what the enemy has stolen. That promise includes our families. Ephesians 6:10-18 calls us to spiritual warfare on behalf of our homes. Restoration begins when we recognize the real battle and put on the full armor of God.

This week’s message focuses on three essential shifts for family healing:

1. Fix that Attitude! – Parents are called to discipline in love, not provoke in frustration (Ephesians 6:4).

2. A Different Outlook on Discipline – True discipline is a sign of love and sonship (Hebrews 12:6-12). We must learn to honor both God and one another (Matthew 19:19).

3. From Control to Connection – Healthy families don’t just enforce rules—they build relationships. Encouragement replaces discouragement when love leads (Colossians 3:21).

Whether you're a parent, grandparent, or future parent, this message will challenge and equip you to be a part of God’s plan for restoring the family.
