The Resurrection Power - Continued

Sep 22, 2024    Owen Mason

Last week, we began our sermon series titled "The Resurrection Power - Continued“ by exploring the first point—being dead to sin. Romans 6:2 and Galatians 2:20 remind us that as believers, we have been crucified with Christ, and through this union, we no longer live in sin. The life we now live is through faith in the Son of God, who gave Himself for us. Colossians 3:1 calls us to seek the things above, where Christ is seated, guiding our lives toward righteousness.

This week, we continue by addressing how to overcome the law of sin. In 1 Thessalonians 5:17, we are encouraged to pray without ceasing, while Psalm 15:2 calls us to walk in truth and integrity. Isaiah 40:31 promises that those who wait upon the Lord will have their strength renewed, enabling them to rise above sin’s power. Romans 8:2 confirms that through the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, we are freed from the law of sin and death.

We will also examine how to personalize Romans 6:4, understanding that as we are united with Christ in His resurrection, we walk in newness of life. Additional practical steps include making no provision for the flesh (Romans 13:14), becoming accountable for consistency (Romans 6:16), and remaining sensitive to the prompting of the Holy Spirit (Romans 6:19). Join us as we delve deeper into the life-transforming power of Christ’s resurrection!
